Charles Arrendell Family Undergraduate Scholarship in Journalism
College of Liberal Arts – Communication First awarded in 1990, this scholarship was established to honor Charles Arrendell, a distinguished journalist and former chairperson of the Department of Communication from 1981-1989. After his sudden death in 1989, his wife, son, and many friends established this scholarship to be awarded to an undergraduate journalism student in his memory.
Eligibility:
- must be a journalism major at UTA
- must have earned at least 60 hours of college credit prior to end of Spring semester
- must have completed at least 15 hours of UTA college credit by the end of Spring semester
- must provide evidence of commitment to pursue a career in print journalism and financial need
- have an excellent academic record
- maintain full-time status for Fall
