National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Scholarships for Science and Mathematics Teachers

Scholarships for juniors, seniors, or post-baccalaureates at The University of Texas at Arlington seeking :
Secondary Life Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, Physics or Mathematics Teacher certification.
2018-2019 Academic Year: $10,000 Scholarship for 1 year (renewable for 1 additional year for UT Arlington juniors)

To be eligible, one must be either a junior or senior with an undergraduate major in either biology, geology, chemistry, physics or math seeking secondary teacher certification in one of those fields at UTA, or a graduate student with an undergraduate degree in either biology, geology, chemistry, physics, or math seeking secondary teacher certification in one of those fields at UTA.

Terms of this scholarship require students to complete the UTA program and earn certification, then teach in a high need district for two years (for each year of scholarship support) as noted above. Recipients also agree to attendance at Learning Academy Seminars, participation in mentoring and continued communication with the NSF Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program at UTA while completing requirements, including during first two years of teaching. Failure to do so requires the recipient to repay the scholarship funds in full to The University of Texas at Arlington. Acceptance of the scholarship requires agreeing to these terms.

High need districts include Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Cedar Hill, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, and others.
