Phillip Lynn Hall Endowed Scholarship Fund

A 1980 graduate of UTA, Phillip Lynn Hall loved music, literature, and journalism. Following his unexpected death in 2001, his family established this scholarship to be awarded to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Communication at UTA in his memory.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a communication major at UTA,
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident,
  • have a commitment to print journalism,
  • completed a minimum of 12 hours in communication courses (9 hours for grad students) or have a B.A. degree,
  • have a minimum overall and departmental gpa of 3.25,
  • at least 9 hours of study remaining to complete communication degree,
  • and be a full-time student for the fall semester.

In order to apply, you must submit the following materials:

  • application,
  • one page essay discussing your career goals
  • an unofficial transcript
  • any transcripts from previous universities/colleges
