UTA Native American Scholarship Fund

The Native American Student Association at the University of Texas at Arlington is considered Texas’s longest-running Native college group. A critical part of our mission is ensuring academic success for Indigenous, Native and Native-supporting students who attend or will be attending the University on a full or part-time basis.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be enrolled at UT Arlington at least half time (6 hours for undergraduate, 3 hours for graduate per full semester) in good standing. The applicant must demonstrate a measurable commitment to a Native American community through volunteerism, philanthropy or other involvement. Please note that American Indian descent is NOT necessary to be considered for the scholarship. Entering admitted high school and transfer students as well as current UTA students may apply.

This is a yearly, non-renewable award.

  1. Please submit no more than one page that addresses the following points: A. Indication of accomplishments, organizations, past involvement with Native American community(ies) B. Explain how you would benefit from this scholarship. (Specifically, how would it advance your academic, career, and/or personal goals?); C. What specific contributions will you bring to UTA’s Native American Student Association?
  2. Please provide the name and email of a member of the Native Community who will supply a letter of recommendation.
  3. Please provide the name and email address of a teacher or a person who can discuss your leadership skills who will write a letter of recommendation for you.
