Sigma Theta Tau Research Endowment Award

Delta Theta Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International, has a long tradition of encouraging and supporting research. This tradition is continuing this year with the inaugural endowment award.

Eligibility Requirements
Faculty applicants interested in applying for the award may be at any stage of their investigation prior to completion of the project. Delta Theta Chapter encourages collaborative research, however, the Principal Investigator for individual or collaborative studies must be an active (dues paying) member of Sigma Theta Tau International for the previous two years. Priority will be given to applications from members of Delta Theta Chapter and to those who have NOT been funded by Delta Theta within the last two years.

Requirements
The research proposal packet must include:

I. A completed Application Form
II. A signed Research Endowment Award Agreement
III. Curriculum Vita of Principal Investigator and any co-investigators
IV. Research Proposal
A. The applicant’s name must appear only on the application form, not on the proposal narrative.
B. The proposal must be 10-pages maximum, double spaced, to include components A though F. References, Budget, and Copies of Instruments do not count toward the 10 pages and may be included as appendices. References may be single spaced. Provide a one-page budget of proposed expenses with a brief rationale for each.

V. Content that must include:
A. Title
B. Statement of Problem and Study Purpose
C. Background and Significance
D. Theoretical Framework
E. Research Methodology
F. Human subject protection (IRB and informed consent)
G. References
H. Budget
I. Copies of any Instruments to be used in the study
• Awardees must agree to participate in at least one chapter activity to present the research findings in the year following receipt of the award. If this criterion is not met, the award will be returned to the chapter.

The agreement may be typed or printed, signed, scanned and sent as a pdf file. The application can be sent as a Word file, or pdf file if advisor’s signature is needed. The proposal itself should be a Word document.
