Watters Scholarship for Higher Education- Engineering

Richard and Yesenia Watters have generously established the Watters Scholarship for Higher Education- Engineering which awards $1000 for active and current Honors College undergraduates in the College of Engineering. This scholarship is not renewable.

Eligibility Requirements: Full-time active undergraduate Honors College Students majoring in Engineering who are making sufficient progress toward their Honors degree (generally, this equates to at least 6 hours per academic year); 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Applicants who do not meet the criteria will not be considered or reviewed.

  2. How many total academic Honors hours have you COMPLETED? (include contracts, designated courses, and cross-listed courses ONLY)
  3. How many academic Honors hours are you currently enrolled in/contracting?
  4. Do you intend to finish the Honors degree requirements, including the Senior Project?
  5. In which semester do you intend to complete your Honors Senior Project (i.e. Spring 2025, Fall 2026, etc.)?
  6. In which semester will you complete your undergraduate degree at UT Arlington?
  7. In 200 words or less, please describe how receiving a scholarship will help you achieve success at The University of Texas at Arlington. Please provide specific examples of the difference this scholarship will make in your academic career or personal life.
