College of Business. David C. Mason Endowed Scholarship

For College of Business students majoring in Finance – Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in Finance. Applicants must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better with a GPA of 3.25 or better in their Finance major. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

About the endowment: David Carlton Mason was born May 24, 1963 in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Claudia South on August 10, 1985 in Fort Worth, Texas. He bravely battled MSA (Multi System Atrophy), a rare and aggressive form of Parkinson’s disease, for three years. He will be remembered by his hard work, kindness and willingness to help others.

David received his BBA degree from UT Arlington in 1985 prior to working in finance for more than 26 years at Electronic Data Systems/Hewlett-Packard and spending the last six years of his career at NTT Data as the vice president of financial global delivery. He took pleasure in traveling with his family, cycling, and the Texas Rangers. David was the father of two sons, Ryan Mason and wife, Sarah of Austin, Texas and Brandon Mason of McKinney, Texas.
