Manuel Gamio Endowment

Center for Mexican American Studies The Manuel Gamio Endowment was established for the benefit of the Center for Mexican American Studies at The University of Texas at Arlington. Students eligible for the CMAS scholarship will be UT Arlington students engaged in Latino studies with satisfactory progress toward a degree or students in a non degree program sponsored by CMAS. Recipients may continue to receive this award for subsequent years. Factors to be considered in the selection process will include: student will pursue a degree program in Mexican American or Latino Studies or Latin American Studies; student may pursue a non degree program sponsored by CMAS; academic performance; student will have exhibited leadership; student will have demonstrated a commitment to serving the Latina/o/x community; demonstrated financial need. Students must upload a letter of application that includes: a statement about your interest in Mexican American studies and/or volunteer work done in any Latino community (300 word minimum). NO LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION NEEDED.
