Wishful Wings Scholarship Fund

College of Liberal Arts – Art & Art History The Wishful Wings Foundation was established in 1998 by Kyong Ju, Jesse and Mia Barnett as a memorial to their late husband and father, James S. Barnett Jr. The intent of the foundation is to support and motivate student-artists, helping them recognize that the ideas they conceive are just as significant as the finished works they output. Awards will be used to provide scholarship support to student-artists who meet the following eligibility requirements and have been identified by a panel of judges:
• minimum 2.75 GPA
• full-time student
• all classifications eligible
• all majors eligible
Student-artists must submit a minimum five-page proposal consisting of: brief description of student-artist; detailed description of their concept – inspiration, intent, process, materials, and meaning.
Illustrations/visual aids must be included in the proposal consisting of: visual history of any or all art created in support of student-artist’s concept; any images that form a “visual illustration” as to how the student-artist predicts the completed project to appear; any work that has inspired the student-artist to their concept.
