Jack Thomas and Janice N. Holmes Scholarship for Classical Studies

College of Liberal Arts – Philosophy and Humanities; Classics Program The Jack Thomas and Janice N. Holmes Scholarship for Classical Studies was established to honor the memory of Jack Holmes, a graduate of the North Texas Agricultural College and in recognition of the positive experience provided members of the Homes family through the study of the Classics. Eligibility requires a minor in Classical Studies at UTA, with a minimum of 6 hours completed in its component disciplines (including the Classical languages); at least 12 student credit hours in residence completed at the time of application; and minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to full-time students scheduled to graduate in December 2021 or later. It is recommended that if the minor is incomplete scholarship winners take at least 3 credit hours applicable to the Classical Studies minor during the year of the award. Application includes official UTA transcript and two letters of recommendation from UTA faculty.
