Grace Thornton Leadership Award
The Grace Thornton Leadership Award will be given to incoming freshmen or new transfer students who enroll at UTA full-time (12+ credit hours) and have demonstrated significant leadership and/or earned high level state, national or other awards during their high school or community college experience. Examples of the activities and awards to be considered include national recognition for service, serving as an officer in a statewide organization, or other similar activities and awards.
Award Amount: range from $1,000 up to full tuition and fees.
New Freshmen: may receive award for up to 4 years total
New Transfer: may receive award for up to 2 years total
Freshmen students must complete a minimum of 30 UTA hours annually with a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible to renew the award beyond the first year.
Transfer students must complete a minimum of 24 UTA hours annually with a 3.25 cumulative GPA to be eligible to renew the award beyond the first year.
